Girlie
Girlie was beaten badly from her husband Papacita, who was cheating on her. The abnuse from her husband caused her to become injured and heartbroken.
Internal Conflict
Cordelia
Cordelia was going through some internal stress because of the sickness her son Tad had that she couldn't do nothing about.Cordelia took on her son's sickness at heart and started to loose her mind.
Internal conflict
Papacita
Papacita got stressed out from the continual argument between Girlie and him and took it upon himself and left her.
2. Internal Conflict is a mental or emotional struggle that occurs within a character.
External Conflict is a struggle that occurs between a character and outside forces which could be another character or environment.
3. Three (3) types of irony
4.In the book Brother Man the type of irony that was mostly played out is dramatic irony. For example, when Girlie was assuming that papacita was cheating on her, by him coming in late at nights. this creatd a suspense for Girlie but the audience knew that papacita was cheating on her. Eventually,later down in the the novel Girlie Found out. Also, when Jesmina was trying to figure out why her sister Cordelia was behaving very secretive and conservative, then she eventually found out that her sister was dealing with obeah and counterfeit money.

Dear Editor,
I am a concern citizen who observed the brutal beating of John Power also known as Brother Man which occured on High street.
This incident took place because of this man beliefs, behaviour and his rastafarianism. The man was beaten intensively and received serious injuries. Brother man begged for peace and love but it was ignored and he was continually beaten.
This act was sad because others stood aside and watched brother man while he was beaten,while a woman tried to saved him but she got beaten as well.In fact, I believe that no one should be beaten because of their culture and beliefs, this man was a innocent man and a peace to the dead. Brother man is a good citizen in the country, he helped everyone when they were in need of help in any way passible.
In my opinion, Rastafarianisms perceived very negatively in the incidedent because brother man was a rasta, some members in the crowd were encouraging the criminals to beat him they even shouted negative words towards him because of the dislike they had for rastafarianism. I believe that rastas are not the only people that rape and chop up man, these incidents are done by other people as well. It is unfair to judge someone by their beliefs and how they look.
